Militant attack
Pakistan's army has once again succumbed to the militants. Six Pakistani soldiers were killed in this attack by the militants. The attack took place at a security post near the Afghan border. The news has been received by police sources.
Islamabad has blamed militants for the surge in violence in Pakistan. They claim that these militants use Afghan territory to plan attacks on security forces across the border. Kabul has denied the allegations. They say that Pakistan's security is its internal problem.
Security sources said the attacks took place between Monday night and Tuesday morning. No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
Kabul and Islamabad were once allies. Despite a ceasefire in October, the two countries have occasionally clashed along the border. At least five people were killed in a fierce exchange of fire on Friday.
Three peace talks, led by Qatar, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, have failed to produce a lasting agreement.
The mountainous border areas of the two countries are used as a base for the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also known as the Pakistani Taliban, which has been fighting the Pakistani government for nearly 20 years.
Like the Afghan Taliban, the TTP adheres to strict Islamic principles. However, the Afghan Taliban has always said that they have no operational ties with the Pakistani Taliban.
