The current government, Dr. Md. Yunus, is neutral: Touhid Hossain

The current government Dr. Md. Yunus will perform his duties impartially. He will not work for any political party. This was stated by Foreign Affairs Adviser Touhid Hossain today (December 27, 2025) around noon on Saturday.

Today, the Foreign Affairs Minister was present as the chief guest at the inauguration of the voting car caravan at the Bhola Balak Government School ground in Bhola district. He said these things in his speech there.

He also said that the current government's goal is that the common people should be able to cast their valuable votes for their own public representatives in this election. On December 29, 2025, the last day of nomination collection, you will be able to see which representatives have collected nomination papers. You will vote for your preferred representative as you wish.

At this time, he reminded the former Prime Minister of his escape, saying that in August 2024, our students gave us freedom by sacrificing their lives. They have some demands. However, we have not listed all their demands. We have listed the most important demands. We will present this list to you for the first time. After listening to the important demands on our list, you will decide whether you want to implement them or not.

At this time, he also reminded the referendum and said that a referendum will be held. If you agree with 80 to 90 percent of the issues on the list, then you can vote 'yes'. And if you do not agree, you will also have the opportunity to vote 'no'. We all have two responsibilities ahead of us, the people, to give our opinion on what changes we want or do not want. If we want change, then the responsibility of implementing it will be on the next Bangladesh. Because, those who will come as public representatives in the next Bangladesh will evaluate your opinions.

The instability and damage that occurred in the country after the departure of former Prime Minister Hasina must be restored. No one should be able to snatch your rights as a citizen of Bangladesh. It will not be possible for your elected representatives to ignore your opinions, because after a few days they will have to go to you again for the vote.'

He also said that the main purpose of the 'Vote Car' is to encourage people to vote. We want everyone to come to the polling station in a festive atmosphere and vote peacefully.

Today (27 December 25) the NCP suffered a big setback. Tasneem Zara first announced through a post on her Facebook profile that she would no longer contest the elections for NCP. She would contest as an independent candidate. Shortly after that, she announced that she would no longer work for NCP. She has resigned. Tasneem Zara was the senior joint member secretary of NCP.
