Two trains collided head-on in Peru, killing the train driver. The incident occurred in the tourist destination of Machu Picchu. The two trains are only used to help tourists travel to the famous tourist destination of Machu Picchu. The incident occurred yesterday (December 30, 2025), Tuesday. According to 50 passengers, including the driver, were injured. Most of the passengers were tourists. Among the injured were foreign tourists.
After the incident, Peruvian rescue workers arrived and rescued all the tourists. Rescue workers confirmed that the condition of about 20 of the injured was critical. They were sent to a local hospital for treatment. And those who received minor injuries were given first aid on the spot and released.
What caused the accident? The local police are investigating the matter. However, so far, the police or any other source has not been able to provide any information about the main reason for the accident and why the two trains collided head-on.
