Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado will be considered a "fugitive" if she leaves the country for Norway to accept the Nobel Peace Prize, Venezuelan Attorney General Tarek William Saab told AFP on Thursday.Machado said she wants to go to Oslo, Norway, to accept the Nobel Peace Prize on December 10. 

She is currently in hiding in Venezuela. However, Attorney General Tarek William Saab said Machado would be considered a fugitive if she left Venezuela because she is under investigation for multiple criminal offenses.Tarek William also said Machado is accused of conspiracy, incitement to hatred and terrorist activities. Machado is also being investigated for supporting the deployment of US troops in the Caribbean.US President Donald Trump has deployed the world's largest aircraft carrier, warships and fighter jets to the Caribbean. 


The US claims that this step has been taken as part of an anti-drug operation. However, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has alleged that the main goal of the Trump administration's move is to overthrow the leftist government led by him.The US military has been attacking various ships in the Caribbean and Pacific Ocean for some time in the name of an anti-drug operation. At least 83 people have been killed in these attacks so far. 

This year's Nobel Peace Prize winner Maria Corina Machado has welcomed the presence of US military forces in the region.Machado also supported Washington's claim that Nicolas Maduro is leading drug cartels in the region.
