Dhaka Capitals assistant coach passes away

Dhaka Capitals assistant coach Mahbub Ali Jacky (Innalillahi wainna ilaihi rajiun) has died of a heart attack during a practice session during the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). He suddenly fell unconscious on the field at one point during the practice session on Saturday (December 27). He was immediately given first aid including CPR and was rushed to the hospital. However, he died before reaching the hospital.


This tragic news brought an atmosphere of mourning to the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. Fellow coaches, cricketers and concerned people were deeply saddened.


At the time of the incident, the Dhaka Capitals players were busy warming up before the match. At that time, the team's assistant coach Mahbub Ali Jacky was present on the field with the players. Suddenly, he fell ill and collapsed on the field. He was given immediate treatment on the field. As his condition did not improve even after applying CPR, he was quickly taken to the hospital. However, this experienced coach lost his life on the way.


Incidentally, Mahbub Ali Jacky has been working as a BCB listed coach for a long time. He is also regularly seen in various BPL tournaments. He was an important member of the coaching staff of the 2020 Bangladesh Under-19 World Cup winning team.
