Two Bangladeshi youths killed
Two Bangladeshi youths were killed in the firing of Indian extremist Khasia tribals on Friday (December 19) night. The incident took place at the Turong and Baramsiddhipur border in Companiganj, Sylhet. The youths were identified as Md. Yakub Uddin (East Turong area) and another was Ashiqur Rahman (same area).
This was learned from the police and the deceased's family. On Friday (December 19), around 11 am, when two people, Ashiqur and Moshaid, went to the border at the Turong border, the extremist group opened fire on them. Ashiqur Rahman died on the spot. And Moshaid left the scene immediately. About 1 hour later, Yakub Uddin went to the Baramsiddhipur border in Sylhet. He was also shot dead by the extremist group.
Earlier, a Hindu youth named Dipu Chandra Das was beaten to death in Myansingh, Bangladesh (December 18). After that, his dead body was set on fire. Later, Dipu Chandra Das' elder brother filed a case with Bhaluka Police Station on Friday (December 19). Bangladesh RAB conducted a raid at night and arrested 7 people in connection with this incident. The arrested people are - Limon Sarkar (19), Tarek Hossain (19), Manik Mia (20), Ershad Ali (39), Nizum Uddin (20), Alamgir Hossain (38) and Miraj Hossain Akon (46).
Former cricketer, along with his wife, sentenced to 17 years in prison in another case
According to police sources, Dipu Chandra Das was a general worker at Pioneer Knit Composite Factory. There was a complaint of insulting religion against Dipu. However, the factory authorities could not provide any information about what was specific in the complaint or who had made the complaint.
