Magistrate Marufa Begon Nelly conducted a midnight raid in the capital's Mohakhali.

Dhaka North City Corporation, led by Magistrate Marufa Begon Nelli, conducted a midnight drive in Mohakhali of the capital. The drive was conducted on Saturday night (January 3, 2026). Dhaka North City Corporation informed that all types of illegal installations, including posters and billboards erected in violation of the election code of conduct, will be removed in phases. This activity is being led by the Executive Magistrate.


The magistrate in charge of the drive said that the City Corporation will take visible steps to resolve the traffic congestion caused by bus parking in the area. He also said that all illegal billboards will be removed in phases. Fines have also been imposed as per the rules.


Meanwhile, the nomination papers of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islam Party candidates have been validated in Bangladesh. Deputy Commissioner Md. Taufiqur Rahman made this announcement around 10 am today.
