He said in the post that he told the Chinese Defence Minister about the talks that the United States will protect their interests and maintain the balance of power in the Indo-Pacific region. He also said that he expressed concern about China's activities in the disputed South China Sea and Taiwan region and that the United States wants to counter China's growing influence in the region.
